For the first six years of this new century, we had been governed by a party that often professes that when they govern least, they govern best. And in 2006, they finally succeeded in persuading the American people of the truth of that claim. As a result, the electorate concurred, and set forth to ensure that Republicans did indeed govern as little as possible.
