Another thing to note about modern DRM.

The only way that leading companies such as Sony and Apple to succeed in the face of public opposition to DRM is, essentially, to ship it broken.

Apple's Fariplay DRM, which they use to encrust music they sell from the iTunes Music Store, is hands down the most popular DRM source in the world. In response to public outcry over it's restrictions, Apple was forced to allow customers to burn their iTunes music to standard, unprotected, Redbook audio CDs. Once this is done, it's easy for users to re-rip the CD into mp3 and then share these tracks on the Internet.

One can easily see why such compromise is not acceptable for nanofactory DRM. Nanofactory capabilities cannot be restricted out; they have to be designed out.
